Medical Disclaimer

IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ THIS DISCLAIMER CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE PLATFORM. Zivala is not a healthcare provider and does not offer medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. All content on this Platform — including Stories, AI outputs, health reports, community posts, My Insights, and direct messages — is provided for informational and experiential purposes only. It must never be used as the basis for any medical decision. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, stop using this Platform immediately and call your local emergency services: UK: 999 | EU/International: 112 | US: 911. |
This Medical Disclaimer forms part of, and must be read together with, the Zivala Terms of Service and the documents referred to in them, including our Community Guidelines, Privacy Policy and Health Data Policy. Together these make up the terms on which you may use the Platform. If you do not agree with this Medical Disclaimer, you must not use the Platform.
Capitalised terms used but not defined in this Medical Disclaimer have the meanings given to them in the Terms of Service or are the names of Platform features. If there is any conflict between this Medical Disclaimer and the Terms of Service in relation to a health or safety matter, this Medical Disclaimer prevails; on all other matters, the Terms of Service prevail.
1 What Zivala Is and Is Not
Zivala is a personal health intelligence and lived-experience platform that helps people organise their health information, track symptoms and outcomes, understand their care, use AI-powered health insights, publish structured health journeys, and learn from the experiences of others.
Neither Zivala nor the Platform is:
- A medical device within the meaning of the UK Medical Devices Regulations 2002 (as amended), EU Medical Devices Regulation 2017/745, or any equivalent legislation in any other jurisdiction, including the United States
- A clinical decision support system or software
- A diagnostic tool — the Platform has no diagnostic capability and does not perform, support, or simulate any diagnostic function
- A treatment recommendation service
- A substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
- A telemedicine platform or remote consultation service
- A clinician discovery or clinician booking marketplace — Zivala does not facilitate the booking of healthcare appointments with third-party clinicians
- An emergency service or crisis response platform
- A symptom checker - it does not interpret your symptoms to suggest possible causes, conditions or treatments
Use of the Platform does not constitute access to healthcare. Zivala has no regulatory authorisation as a medical device, clinical tool, or healthcare service in any jurisdiction.
2 No Medical Advice
No content on this Platform — whether submitted by Users, produced by artificial intelligence features, generated as a Report or Insight, or otherwise made available — constitutes or should be construed as medical advice.
Users must not interpret any content on the Platform as personalised to their specific medical circumstances or as a substitute for a clinical assessment by a qualified healthcare professional who has examined them and is familiar with their individual medical history.
Nothing on this Platform is intended to replace, supplement, or substitute for the advice, diagnosis, or treatment provided by a qualified, registered healthcare professional. Always seek the advice of your doctor or other qualified health provider regarding any medical condition, health concern, or treatment decision.
3 No Diagnosis
Zivala does not, and cannot, diagnose any medical condition, disease, disorder, or health state. The Platform has no diagnostic capability and is not designed, intended, or authorised to perform any function that would constitute clinical diagnosis or differential diagnosis.
Pattern identification, health summaries, AI outputs, and Insights generated by the Platform do not constitute a diagnosis. If you believe you may have a medical condition, you must consult a qualified, registered healthcare professional.
The Platform does not interpret your symptoms to suggest possible causes, conditions or diagnoses, and does not recommend or rank treatments. Where it identifies patterns or summarises information, it does so only to help you organise and understand the information you have entered - never to indicate what may be wrong with you or what you should do about it.
4 No Treatment Recommendations
Content describing treatments, procedures, medications, therapies, or interventions — whether posted by Users in Stories or community posts, generated by AI features, or appearing in Reports or Insights — represents informational or experiential content only. It cannot be taken as a recommendation that any treatment is appropriate, safe, or effective for any other individual.
Individual responses to medical treatments vary significantly. No generalisation can or should be drawn from individual User experiences. Treatment decisions must be made in consultation with a qualified, registered healthcare professional with knowledge of your individual circumstances.
5 Medicines and dosage safety
The Platform lets you record medications and supplements and may summarise them in reports and AI outputs, but it does not check or verify them for safety. In particular, it does not check for drug interactions, contraindications or allergies, does not check or recommend dosages, and does not warn you of any risk arising from taking, combining, changing or stopping any medication or supplement. You must not rely on the Platform for any decision about medication or dosage. Always consult your doctor, pharmacist or another qualified healthcare professional before making any such decision.
6 No Professional Relationship
Use of the Zivala Platform — including reading Stories, participating in community groups and posts, sending or receiving direct messages, using Zivala AI, reviewing Care AI Reports or Track AI Reports, using My Insights, logging appointments, and using any other Platform feature — does not create a professional, clinical, advisory, or contractual relationship of any kind between Zivala and any User, or between any User and any other User.
In particular, no doctor-patient relationship, therapeutic relationship, or clinical duty of care is created through use of the Platform or any of its features. A clinical relationship arises only from a separate, direct engagement between a patient and a healthcare professional conducted outside this Platform.
Direct messages exchanged between Users on the Platform do not constitute professional health advice, regardless of the professional background of the sender. No User should provide or rely upon health advice in direct messages as a substitute for professional clinical consultation.
7 My Insights
My Insights is a feature within the Track section of the Platform that analyses a User's own tracking data to identify patterns, trends, and correlations in their health information over time. The following limitations apply:
- My Insights is informational only. It does not constitute medical advice.
- My Insights does not diagnose any medical condition, disease, disorder, or health state.
- My Insights does not predict clinical outcomes or establish that any identified pattern will lead to a particular health outcome.
- My Insights does not provide treatment recommendations or suggest that any particular treatment, medication, or intervention is appropriate for any User.
- Patterns and trends identified by My Insights are based solely on data the User has entered into the Platform. The accuracy of My Insights output depends on the accuracy and completeness of data entered. Incomplete, inconsistent, or inaccurate data entry will affect output quality.
- My Insights operates on your data only. It does not compare you against other Zivala Users or against any clinical benchmark.
My Insights output should never be used as the sole or primary basis for any health, treatment, or clinical decision. Always discuss patterns or trends identified by My Insights with a qualified, registered healthcare professional before acting on them.
8 Care AI Report
The Care AI Report is an AI-generated report created from data you have entered into the Care section of the Platform, including clinical records, conditions, medications, appointments, and care timeline entries. The following limitations apply:
- A Care AI Report is a summary and synthesis of information you have provided. It does not constitute a clinical assessment, medical opinion, or clinical finding.
- A Care AI Report does not diagnose any medical condition.
- A Care AI Report does not evaluate the accuracy, completeness, or clinical significance of data you have entered.
- A Care AI Report does not constitute medical advice and should not be used to make clinical decisions.
- A Care AI Report may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies arising from AI processing.
- A Care AI Report is not reviewed by a clinician or healthcare professional before being presented to you.
Care AI Report output is intended to help you understand and organise your health information, not to replace clinical consultation. You should share Care AI Report output with your healthcare professional for clinical interpretation, not act on it independently.
9 Track AI Report
The Track AI Report is an AI-generated report created from data you have entered into the Track section of the Platform, including daily check-ins, specialist tracking logs, and wearable data (where connected). The following limitations apply:
- A Track AI Report identifies patterns and trends in your tracking data. It does not establish clinical causation between any identified pattern and any health outcome.
- A Track AI Report does not diagnose any medical condition, disease, disorder, or symptom cluster.
- A Track AI Report does not establish that symptoms recorded in your tracking logs are related to each other, to a particular condition, or to any treatment.
- A Track AI Report does not constitute medical advice and should not be used to make treatment or clinical decisions.
- A Track AI Report may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies arising from AI processing.
- A Track AI Report is not reviewed by a clinician or healthcare professional before being presented to you.
Track AI Report output is intended to help you identify and understand patterns in your own health data, not to replace clinical consultation.
10 Wearable and Biometric Data
Where you connect a wearable or external health service (such as Apple HealthKit or Google Health Connect), the Platform imports metrics such as step count, heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep and blood-oxygen readings. These metrics are produced by consumer devices, not medical instruments. They may be inaccurate, incomplete or delayed, and they are not clinical measurements. You must not rely on wearable or biometric data shown in the Platform to detect, diagnose or monitor any medical condition, or to make any health decision. If you have a health concern, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
11 Appointment Preparation Support
The appointment preparation feature uses information you have provided in the Platform — including appointment details, conditions, medications, and recent tracking data — to help you prepare for healthcare appointments. The following limitations apply:
- Appointment preparation support is informational only. It does not constitute medical advice.
- Appointment preparation output is not a clinical recommendation and does not suggest what you should discuss, request, or decide in a clinical setting.
- Appointment preparation output does not substitute for the clinical judgment of the healthcare professional you are meeting.
- Appointment preparation support helps you organise and present your health information. It does not evaluate the clinical significance of that information.
Use appointment preparation output as an organisational aid to support your clinical consultation, not as a clinical guide.
12 Zivala AI — Conversational Health AI
|
AI DISCLAIMER: Zivala AI is not a clinician, cannot diagnose conditions, cannot recommend treatments, and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. AI outputs are generated by automated systems. They may be factually incorrect, clinically inappropriate, incomplete, or inapplicable to your circumstances. Never rely on AI outputs for any health-related decision, diagnosis, or treatment choice. Always seek professional medical advice. |
Zivala AI is a conversational health AI that provides responses based on your personal health information and general health knowledge. The following limitations apply to all Zivala AI outputs, including responses to health questions, health summaries, and any content generated through AI features:
- AI outputs are not reviewed by a qualified healthcare professional before being presented to you.
- AI outputs are generated by automated processing and may be factually incorrect, clinically inappropriate, incomplete, outdated, or entirely inapplicable to your individual circumstances.
- AI outputs are informational only and do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.
- AI outputs must never be used as the sole or primary basis for any health, treatment, or clinical decision.
- AI outputs do not reflect a clinical assessment of your health record. They reflect the data you have entered and the AI's processing of that data.
- No significant automated decisions affecting your rights or circumstances are made by any AI feature.
Story Drafting and Generation Assistance:
Story drafting and story generation assistance are AI writing tools that help you create or develop your personal health Story. AI writing assistance does not validate, verify, or clinically assess the health content of your Story. The published Story remains your personal account and is subject to all disclaimers in these sections.
13 Community Content, Stories, and Lived Experience
|
IMPORTANT: Content shared on the Zivala Platform — including published health Stories, journey updates, community posts, comments, and direct messages — represents the personal lived experiences and individual opinions of other Users. It does not constitute medical or clinical advice. |
- Published health Stories represent individual, subjective health journeys. They are personal narratives, not clinical assessments.
- Journey updates within Stories represent ongoing personal experiences and should not be treated as clinical evidence of treatment outcomes.
- Community posts, comments, reactions, and group discussions reflect personal opinions and lived experience. They do not constitute clinical or therapeutic guidance.
- Direct messages are personal communications between Users. They do not constitute professional health advice, regardless of the professional background of the sender.
- Zivala does not verify the medical accuracy of any User-generated content, including Stories, posts, comments, or messages.
- The same condition, treatment, or procedure may produce significantly different outcomes in different individuals. Experiences described by other Users may not be representative of outcomes for Users with similar conditions, diagnoses, or treatment histories.
- Content describing treatments, medications, dosages, procedures, or outcomes should never be applied to your own healthcare decisions without first consulting a qualified, registered healthcare professional.
Stories and community content are informational in the sense that they help Users understand the range of experiences others have had. They are not informational in the clinical sense. They must never be used to guide, supplement, or replace clinical advice.
14 User-Generated Content Generally
All User-generated content on the Platform — whether in Stories, community posts, comments, direct messages, or any other form — reflects individual, subjective experiences and perceptions. It is not clinical data, has not been verified by healthcare professionals, and should not be interpreted as clinical evidence or guidance.
Zivala does not curate or present content for the purpose of advising Users on clinical treatment options for their individual circumstances. If you believe any content on the Platform constitutes or implies clinical advice tailored to your specific medical circumstances as a substitute for professional consultation, please report this to support@zivala.health.
15 Trust and Content Integrity
Zivala operates a content review and moderation framework to support the safety, authenticity, and integrity of content published on the Platform. This framework includes automated safety review, AI-assisted content review, and human moderation where required.
Content review is focused on platform safety, community standards, and the identification of potentially harmful or misleading health content. It is not a process that clinically validates User-generated content or verifies the medical accuracy of personal health Stories.
Zivala may introduce voluntary content trust indicators from time to time, enabling Story authors to indicate the basis and context of their Stories. Any such systems will be disclosed in Platform terms before they take effect. No content trust indicator system that clinically validates Story content is planned or active.
All content on the Platform remains subject to the disclaimers in Sections 2 to 14 regardless of any content review, moderation action, or trust indicator associated with it.
